Connecticut’s capitol, Hartford, is one of the oldest cities in the country, founded in 1635.  It has a diverse terrain, with the Connecticut River flowing through it. Just about any type of venue can be had in this area, with urban and rural settings available, and everything in between. Home to the Harriet Beecher Stowe House, historic architecture and lovely landscapes.

Some Favorite Venues

  • West Hartford’s Elizabeth Park has over 100 acres of beautiful gardens and walking trails, all open to the public and free of charge.  And outdoors, too, to stay safe during the coronavirus.
  • Are you a Mark Twain fan? His house, now a historical site,  is available for weddings.
  • In West Granby, historic Holcomb Farm has a selection of event spaces, indoor or out. It is a 312 working farm, managed by the town.
  • Situated along the Connecticut River, the Glastonbury Boathouse has both indoor and outdoor ceremony space available.
  • Public parks, beaches and hiking trails abound the area. Many have lovely gazebos and scenic areas, ideal for a ceremony.
