ONE of the most requested JPs in Connecticut!
The name of my wedding business is Forever and a Day Weddings.
As a Justice of the Peace, I find joy in constructing a ceremony that reflects the personality of my couples and is truly memorable. We will work together to make yours a personalized ceremony. I have worked with several hundred couples over the years and I never disappoint.
I am a preferred vendor at several wedding venues in the central and shoreline area. The Bee & Thistle Inn is one of my very favorites, elegant, an especially wonderful wedding Coordinator, and lovely river views on the Lieutenant River. Also the CT Wedding group that has The Barns at Wesleyan, Wadsworth Mansion, Lyman Orchards, and The Pavilion at Crystal Lake.
I enjoy working with couples who are going down the aisle for the first time, or others who are taking their second trip with their young children, or those who are being wed as mature adults. I also can officiate a recommitment ceremony, to mark a special anniversary, or life changing event.
If you have a friend or family member that would like to assist me with the ceremony I welcome them as well to collaborate and participate.
I can incorporate an additional “ceremony during the ceremony”, such a Love Lock, Sand Ceremony, Unity Candle, and Celtic Handfasting, which I personalize with a keepsake ribbon.
I have been lucky enough to have married many in the LGBTQ community over the years. I am proud that Connecticut was one of the first states to recognize gay marriages.
The first step after you contact me via email, is to set up a face to face meeting. I like a coffee shop or diner, where we can get to know each other over coffee. I will ask you questions about when you first met, what attracted you to each other, in other words, hear your story.
My style as an officiant is one of making you feel relaxed. In fact I only see the three of us during the wedding, and that bond between us is key to your enjoyment of the ceremony.
My husband and I have been married 33 years and we have 4 children and 4 grandchildren who all live in Connecticut.
While I’m not officiating at wedding ceremonies, I am involved with the Durham Agricultural Fair, where I am a member of the Executive committee as the Assistant Secretary and also a Customer Relations Superintendent. It is the largest all volunteer fair in North America. It is also remarkable feat that we greet over 200,000 guests over a 4 day fair.
I was proud to serve as an Enumerator (Census Taker) for the US Census bureau 2020 campaign. I felt that it was a great chance to take part in the living history of the United States.
The other organization and the one closest to my heart, is After the Storm, Inc. Founded by one of my former breast cancer patients, it has a larger fundraiser each year, which is called the Art Bra Runway. Bras are decorated and worn on the runway (men and women) and are bid on to raise money for area hospitals to be able to offer integrative medicine services, not covered by insurance. I create unique bras and volunteer as a seamstress during the event, for those “wardrobe malfunctions”. ATF recently announced they will be distributing $80,000 to several local hospitals. Breast cancer is also a personal because my mom and several aunts died from the disease.
I am so fortunate to meet so many wonderful couples and their families. I recently retired from my career of 45 yrs in healthcare as a Radiologic Technologist, specializing in the field of Mammography, and then spent the last 10 years as Manager of a large Outpatient Imaging Department. My role was one of compassion and empathy and I bring that to the weddings I do. I want my couples to enjoy every moment of their ceremony.
Below is the last verse of one of my favorite poems: The Key to Love (unknown author). I think it captures what we all want in our marriages.
The key to love is inside us all …
It takes time and patience to unlock all the ingredients
that will take you to its threshold;
it is the continual learning process
that demands a lot of work …
but the rewards are more than worth the effort …
and that is the key to love.

Carol was extremely professional from start to finish. The moment we met with her, my husband and I felt comfortable and confident that she would deliver the ceremony of our dreams. She was timely and prepared and her well thought words were sincere and heartfelt- there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!
We wanted to stay as low key and easygoing as possible — and the whole day turned out to be just that! You’re wonderful!
It was important to both my husband and me that we felt comfortable with our officiant: from our first meeting with Carol, we knew we were in the right hands. We loved the ceremony draft she shared with us–and she happily worked with us to tailor it in a few ways to match our specific needs. Every phone call/email was answered promptly and professionally; she was a delight to work with every step of the way.
As we get close to our second anniversary, we fondly think of you and how special you made our wedding vows. Thank you so much for being the beginning of our two years of happily ever after.
The wedding ceremony was perfect and we had a wonderful time on our wedding day. Thank you so much for making us feel very comfortable and for arranging a very special ceremony. My brother Fred was very happy to add the readings and our family couldn’t be happier with how everything came together. We only have the highest praise for you and will always have happy memories of the most wonderful day of our lives.
I wanted to thank you again for your services, which really helped to make our wedding day special. So many people in my family mentioned how lovely you were, and that you did a fantastic job at the ceremony. Not even kidding – they loved you! One more thanks, for the beautiful gift you gave while we were taking pictures outside. That was very thoughtful, and much appreciated.
Thank you again for all you did for John and me on our wedding day. The ceremony was perfect and I so appreciate all of your help with my boots, gum, and the little errands throughout the day!. We are so blessed to have you be a part of our special day.
Jason and I would like to thank you for two special days of love and devotion. You have a very special, familiar and intimate quality about you. You will be forever in our hearts.
Everything was great. You looked amazing and the ceremony was short, to the point, yet still meaningful. You addressed all of our concerns and wants and needs. You did a phenomenal job and I would have no problem passing on your services to others. The readings you had were great and I feel like you were able to connect on our level as to how we envisioned our ceremony to be.
We just wanted to send you a quick Thank You for officiating at our wedding and for doing such a great job. Everyone told us how beautiful and unique the ceremony was and that they loved each aspect of it. You did an amazing job and we’re really glad that we found you!
Once again, thank you so much for officiating our wedding. Everyone thought the ceremony was perfect and wanted to pass along that a lot of people complimented us on your work. Once again, thank you so much for making our wedding so perfect.
We were very touched by how you made the moment very meaningful, as well as spiritual. You went well above and beyond what you are required to do and are indeed involved in a ministry yourself.
Tracey and I wanted to thank you for performing our wedding yesterday. You did a wonderful job. Even though we read through it ahead of time, it was still like we were hearing it for the first time. It was a perfect day and we truly appreciate the role you played in it. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, commented about how beautiful the ceremony was. There weren’t many dry eyes. I hope some folks took the time to talk to you but if they did not, I want you to know that there were many many compliments. Plenty of folks said it was the most beautiful ceremony they’ve ever seen. Thanks again Carol. We are grateful and wish you all the best.
We feel so honored and happy that we have you as the officiant of our wedding. We’re excited for you to meet our friends and family. And you will meet people from all around the globe and especially from your favorite place, The Netherlands.
Carol, Thank you so much for being part of our wedding. It means a lot to us that you wrote such a beautiful vow for us to take as husband and wife. Thank you again.
Carol, Thank you so much for marrying us! We will highly recommend you to anyone we know that is engaged.
Thank you so much for officiating our ceremony. It was a wonderful day.
Bill and I can’t thank you enough for being out Justice of the Peace for our wedding. It was exactly what we wanted and couldn’t have asked for a better day.
Happy New Year! Sunny and I wish to say thank you for making our wedding ceremony so memorable. We greatly appreciate all that you did for us. Our guests said that your words were special and meaningful. We appreciate that you took the time to meet us at the Morning Glory café (we met my family there for brunch on Sunday morning). Thanks, also, for the babysitting tip at the Bee and Thistle, which was helpful for our guests with children.
We will be sure to recommend you to our friends and family. I hope our paths cross again. Best wishes,
Thank you for being such a perfect Justice of the Peace and special guide for this bride and groom. Your good energy and coaching was our staff of strength to lean on and Thank you for being our angel of the most important moments of the wedding day.
