Conference for Civil Marriage Officiants
The Justice of the Peace Association is celebrating 20 years with a virtual conference. This event will bring together keynote speakers and workshops in an informative and engaging format. The 2021 Conference is intended to provide a creative environment where civil officiants can hear about relevant news, re-imagine weddings, learn new skills, and nurture relationships with others through networking opportunities.
Request for Proposals
JPus members and invited guests may submit a proposal to present a workshop at the Justice of the Peace Association Conference 2021.
Include in Proposal
★ Introduction: What will the participants learn or gain from the workshop or presentation?
★ Method: How will the information be conveyed? Will it be an interactive workshop or a lecture?
★ Proposals should address a topic of current relevance to marriage officiants. It should demonstrate advance understanding of the issue. Share your expertise and help our community learn more.
★ Methods should be sound and writing should be clear and well-organized.
Advancing the Profession
The JPus conference provides an opportunity for professional marriage officiants to come together virtually to share experience, expertise and ideas that foster skills and improvements. To this end, we strive to create an atmosphere where the presented information is of significant quality and relevance. Presentations help establish our standing as the pre-eminent organization for professional marriage officiants. Proposals should contribute to the exchange of ideas and advance officiants’ performance. All presentations will take place using a digital platform.

Submission Guidelines
★ Only current (expiration date after 3/30/2021) JPus members and invited guests may submit proposals. You may join JPus or renew your membership before applying.
★ Each JPus member may submit one proposal for a conference presentation. Members may also partner with each other to co-present at the conference.
★ Please submit a short (maximum 75 words) abstract and a long 500-1000 word description of the presentation.
- The short abstract will be used to promote your presentation.
- The longer description will be used for JPus to decide which presentations to accept.
Application Process
★ Submissions received by January 18, 2020 will receive first consideration.
★ Submit your application by e-mail to admin at JPus.org.
★ The Justice of the Peace Association will consider all complete submissions and make selections based on relevance, interest and balance with other content. JPus’ decision is final.
★ The selected presenters will receive free admission to the conference.
